Overview
The 2009 Mitsubishi Raider is a midsize pick-up truck equipped with a robust engine, spacious cabin and excellent towing capacity. For 2008, the Raider Durocross and SE trim levels were eliminated. The 2009 Mitsubishi Raider is a carryover of the 2008 model. It is covered under several warranties such as a 5-year/60,000-mile; a 7-year/100,000-mile; and a 5-year/unlimited miles warranty.
Power and performance
The 2009 Mitsubishi Raider comes in two body styles the Extended Cab and the Double Cab (Crew Cab) and four trim levels the LS Extended Cab 2WD MT, LS Extended Cab 2WD AT, LS Double Cab 2WD, and LS Double Cab 4WD V6. The Raider is powered by a standard 3.7-liter V6 engine that produces 210 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission (MT) is standard on the LS Extended Cab 2WD MT, while a four-speed automatic transmission (AT) is standard on the LS Double Cab 4WD V6.
Fuel economy of the LS Extended Cab 2WD MT is 16/20 mpg (city/highway), while that of the LS Double Cab 4WD V-6 is 14/18 mpg (city/highway). Maximum towing capacity varies from 2,950 pounds (for Raider MT models) to 4,150 pounds with the AT versions.
Body and styling
The 2009 Mitsubishi Raider is a fine package with simple, easy-to-use controls and standard features that include 16-inch wheels (with steel wheels on the Extended Cab versions and aluminum wheels on the Double Cab trims); air-conditioning; tinted glass; four-speaker audio system; power windows; power locks with keyless entry; power mirrors; premium cloth upholstery; built-in storage trays; front-mounted auxiliary audio input jack; and AM/FM stereo radio with integrated single-CD player.
The Raider Extended Cab offers the convenience of second-row seating with seating for five people, while the four-door Double Cab has capacity for six passengers. All Raider versions feature a heavy-duty suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars and rack-and pinion steering. Sirius satellite radio is also available on the 2009 Raider.

The 2009 Mitsubishi Raider comes with high-tech standard features such as advanced dual front airbags with two-stage inflators; rear-wheel anti-lock brakes; dual three-point rear seat belts; and lower anchors and tethers for children. Its fully boxed steel frame with hydro-formed octagonal rail tips makes it safer. Fog lamps are also available as an option on the 2009 Raider.
